Minister says Russia harvests 15 mln tns of grain in 29 regions

MOSCOW, Jul 15 (PRIME) -- Russia has harvested 15 million tonnes of grain in 29 regions, Agriculture Minister Dmitry Patrushev said on Thursday.

“The harvest campaign has stared in 29 regions. We have harvested 15 million tonnes of grain. The weather is very hot in some regions of the Central and the Volga federal districts, which will impact the plants so production techniques should be adjusted,” he said.  

Patrushev also ordered to expand agricultural insurance from the current 2.5% of the cropping areas and 11.5% of the living stock, adding that 4.4 billion rubles from the budget is allocated to the purpose in 2021, twice as much as in 2020.
